ABOUT

Dancing since 1976
100% exam pass rate
Annual show at the Grand Theatre

Principal Carol Suttie has been the heart of the Suttie School of Dance since 1976, over 40 years! After many years of teaching for her own dance teacher, she decided to set up her own dance school and it has gone from strength to strength ever since, with Carol now also head of the association, Midland Academy of Stage Dancing (MASD).

Carol’s passion for dancing and the results she produces from her pupils has made the school notorious and one of the largest in the area. Some past pupils have gone on to dance professionally and many others have been inspired to open their own dance schools and continue to pass the love for dance to many others. Many generations have passed through the doors of the school, as past pupils often remark that they would never send their children anywhere else.

The school creates a happy and lively atmosphere throughout the classes, building self assurance, good social skills and interaction, along with self discipline and determination. It has over 250 pupils ranging from the ages of 2 to 80! Based at two locations, Bilbrook Church Hall and St Nicholas School, Codsall, you can expect to be taught a wide range of subjects including Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Musical Comedy and Disco.

Each year every pupil takes examinations in all subjects with the Midland Academy of Stage Dancing, for which we have a 100% pass rate. We also put on an annual show at the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton, costumes are provided and every pupil takes part. The Suttie School of Dance produces high quality dancers and many past pupils have gone on to work professionally in the world of dance and entertainment.

CAROL SUTTIE

“Carol has a passion from her heart to teach children and adults the art of dance. With 100% commitment and drive, without fail every Saturday and weekdays she is enthusiastic to teach and full of admiration for every single pupil.”
Parent
“I have known Carol Suttie for over 35 years. Carol taught and inspired me to enjoy dance for over 10 years. Sharing the experience with the next generation, my daughter is now taught by Carol.”
Former student & parent
“Carol is a perfectionist with excellent morals and passes these qualities on to her pupils both past and present.”
“Every year Carol prepares pupils to take part in dancing exams, achieving a 100% pass rate. Following the exams, the highlight of the year is the production of a Dancing Show at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton.”
Parent
“Carol is well organised, extremely hardworking and works tirelessly, choreographing the routines, making the many costumes and accessories, to ensure each Dancing Show is successful and enjoyed by both the pupils and the audiences.”
Parent
“Carol is well liked by the community, this is shown by the size of her dance school.”
Parent
“Carol has devoted her whole life to dance. Over the years she has helped thousands of pupils achieve their dream of being able to dance.”

Carol Suttie is held in high regard within the community, and is regularly asked to provide performers for events and has even been a judge for a local school talent contest.

Always a perfectionist, she achieves high standards from her pupils with 100% pass rate in the exams taken each year. The annual shows at the Grand Theatre are always professional, slick and entertaining for pupils and spectators alike, with Carol not only choreographing the routines but also designing and producing the stunning costumes and accessories. However, her best quality is her caring nature and the love and support she offers to every pupil from Babes to Adults. She is not only a dance teacher but a fountain of advice and lifelong friend to many who have crossed her path over the years.
